Floating Teapots

This is my favorite teapot ever. I use it everyday to make tea, granted I have time to actually SIT and ENJOY it. Otherwise forget it. And I have immortalized it forever in Maya and the internets. Here she is with no texture:

And here she is floating and in color (texture will be improved upon in the future):

And there she is. As soon as I don't have to be up at 6am to go to work or class, I fully intend on using her again.

The Most Epic Ball Bounce Ever. And a snack.

This is the second or third time I've done a ball bounce in Maya, but the first where I've used a rig I've created. I can't take credit for the actual design of the rig though. Enjoy the most epic ball ever to bounce...

and have a snack while you watch it.

Dragon Doodles

So while I should be paying attention in class, I'm actually doodling. This piece took a bit of an evolutionary turn.

From this...

To this...

And finally this.

A productive first week of class.

There be elephants...

Woodblocking with Photoshop tonight. This is a pretty organic piece and I might try to do something a little more stylistic.

Po: Personified

Po. She's a dragon. She started life in a tiny little tank at Petsmart, where she watched all her brothers and sisters be sold (personally, I think she ate them). Then there was no one left in her tiny little tank and she was very lonely (that's what you get for eating the competition, honey). She then saw an unsuspecting redheaded human walk by and decided to make herself as cute as possible. The potential for fresh meat was outside that tank!

And so that is how the ferocious dragon Po ended up in my care. She ravages crickets and collards and terrorizes mealworms on a daily basis. Squash cowers before her, unable to defend itself from her gnashing teeth. Po soon realized, however, that the unsuspecting redhead she tricked into taking her home was the BRINGER OF FOOD. Karma. Gotta love it.

Alas, Po has a way of expressing herself. What a bottomless pit.

Sorry for the hasty stitch job from the scanner. You'll have to suffer with the annoying line until I load it into Photoshop.

Character Musings

Character design is something that I would love to develop in the future. While watching TV I doodled a little French waiter. Monsieur Le Waiteur is an amazing waiter, and is overly dramatic in his actions. He takes his job VERY seriously.

Here are some preliminary designs for my little origami girl from "Blank Pages. These are the original sketches used to model her.

Welcome to Elephant Dreams!

End of the summer, start of something new. New doodles, new faces, more traveling to new places.

In a few weeks I will begin my endeavors to be a professional animator, and I hope to use this spot to post my progress and musings.

We start with flying, climbing, and playing. My little origami girl is the centerpiece of my latest film "Blank Pages". Folded into creation from simple paper, she goes through life loving and in constant wonder of the world around her.
